Nasi kuning tumpeng. Nasi tumpeng is a large cone-shaped yellow steamed rice dish with side dishes of vegetables and meat originating from Javanese cuisine of Indonesia. It is traditionally featured in a religious ceremony as a symbol of thanksgiving to gods of nature. Nasi tumpeng comes from an ancient Indonesian tradition that revers mountains as the abode of the ancestors and the gods. Rice cone is meant to symbolise the holy mountain. The feast served as some kind of thanksgiving for the abundance of harvest or any other blessings.
