An example of the manjapuik marapulai procession. The groom will be picked up by the family of the bride to be brought to the house of the anak daro (bride) to be juxtaposed in the bridal bed. This ceremony shows that the marriage proposal in Minang custom is done by the bride’s family towards her husband candidate. In this procession, the family of the bride wore traditional clothes and brought important items to the groom’s house.
